Please wash your hands and breasts with warm water and soap.
Manually express and discard a few drops of breast milk before using the sterile container.
Either by manual expression or using a clean breast pump, collect a few teaspoons of breast milk directly into the sterile container given to you before you were discharged from the hospital.
Please ensure the container is labeled with the date and time the milk was collected.
Put the container with the milk immediately into the cooler bag for transport.
Instructions for collecting baby poo sample:
Wash your hands thoroughly before beginning the collection.
Lay the soiled nappy out flat.
Open specimen container.
With the spoon provided, collect a small amount of poo (about the size of a 20 cent coin) from the nappy and place in specimen container. Try to collect poo that has not been in contact with the nappy.
Firmly screw the lid of the specimen container shut.
Discard the spoon with the nappy in the usual way.
